The newest barbershop quartet to be formed within the Northern Neck Bay Tones, we made our debut at the Steamboat Era Museum's Steamboatin' show in September 2009. We come from diverse backgrounds, but share a love for singing the old songs in barbershop style.
We are (L to R):
Jim Makin (Tenor) – recently took up singing barbershop after retiring from careers in the Army and one of the nation's research laboratories. Moved to the Northern Neck and joined the Baytones in 2009.
Peter Bennett (Lead) – 35 years of teaching left no time for singing. Then retired to Williamsburg and joined the Dukes of Gloucester Street . Three years ago moved to the Northern Neck and now sings with the Chesapeake Chorale and the Bay Tones.
Paul Kimball (Bass) – singing career interrupted by 22 years sailing aboard submarines in the Navy. A charter member of the Bay Tones, also sings with the Chesapeake Chorale and the Reedville Festival Halle Chorale.
Ron Feldman (Baritone) – the most ancient Ancient Mariner, has sung in mixed choruses most of his adult life. Only since moving to the Northern Neck 10 years ago did he discover the sheer joy of singing barbershop harmonies.
